With the efforts of leading crypto companies, the first full-fledged lobbying organization, called the Blockchain Association, was created in Washington. Among the founders of the organization, among others, are Coinbase, Circle, Digital Currency Group, Polychain Capital and Protocol Labs.
This organization seeks to become the main regulator of relations between the authorities and the world of cryptocurrencies. The Blockchain Association also positions itself as a representative of the interests of those companies that want to work within the political system without bypassing it.
Among the initial tasks is the consideration of the cryptocurrencies in accordance with US tax legislation and clarifying to lawmakers the application of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Costumer (KYC) policies in the industry.
